You might have noticed a few new posts or changes I’ve made to this blog in the last week. That’s because I’ve decided to get more into WordPress and learn everything I can about the program. I did this for several reasons; to enhance my own writing blog, and to enhance my available skills for my freelancing business.
In this endeavor, I purchased the book WordPress All-in-One for Dummies by Lisa Sabin-Wislon. It’s a really great book and will tell you everything you’ll pretty much need to know about WordPress. The book is centered around the WordPress.org system, but can be used to figure out the WordPress.com as well (for those who don’t know the difference, WordPress.org is a fully encompassing Content Management System for building and maintaining websites, while WordPress.com is a hosted blogging platform for those looking for simplicity and less technical headaches).

I already moved it from Blogger to WordPress (as you probably already noticed). That was a big step for me. One I’ve been putting off for awhile. I’m glad I made the change though. I really do love WordPress better. It’s so much more versatile.
Anyways, I will be taking the time to do more posts on my blog. Don’t be surprised to see two or more posts a week for awhile. Yes, I know that’s a epidemic for me. It’s something I never saw myself doing EVER. Hold on while I look out my window to see if pigs are flying. Nope. No pigs. Yet.

For the last few years I have been using Blogger, but have decided to make the move to WordPress to gain more control over the look and feel of my blog. I also made the change from a URL of writerific to Cynthia Griffin to help with branding. All old posts from Blogger have been imported over to WordPress. I look forward to making new posts on writing, books I’ve read, and more very soon!
