Kate’s breath left her lungs. She stared at the teenager as if he’d just told her pigs actually could fly and hell had finally frozen over.
She grasped for something to say. Her first reaction was to deny everything, but then curiosity got the best of her. “How did you know?”
His embarrassment was pushed back with a sly smile. “Come on, Mrs. A. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what you and Mr. Marks were both doing in the janitor’s closet. It only takes one person to put a mop away. And you two were putting mops away together quite a lot last year.”
Kate’s face felt like a blazing sunset. Her hand reached up to loosen her blouse that seemed to be strangling her. “I… “
Ty shrugged again. “If you don’t want to tell me, that’s okay. Like I said, I lost a bet with the guys. And we heard you got a divorce…”
Her mind fumbled for a solid thought. Were they that obvious? Well, as hot as things had gotten last year, she supposed they could have slipped up a few times. Randy just made her so crazy. All it took was one intense look—his red, delicious lips and honey-gold gaze—and her panties became a wet mess. And his tongue… the way its roughness licked her chest, breasts, belly, and thighs…
