This blog has gone through many updates and changes since I first started it ten years ago. Mostly it started as a writing site, then shifted over to book reviews. Somewhere in between there, I did posts about journaling and posts reflecting on some of the self-improvements I’d gone through. But for the most part, I have tried to keep to a writing theme. That’s about to change.
I realized that in my trying to put this blog “into a box”, I was cutting myself from other possibilities. So I am opening this space up wide to incorporate all of me, not just one part. That’s because I am not just a writer, or book reviewer. I’m a lot of other things, things I’d like to share, but have been hesitant to do so.
If you are looking for just writing posts (not that I’ve done many of those recently…lol) or just book reviews, then this may be where you unfollow me and go elsewhere, I’m totally cool with that. But if you are into a little bit of an adventure, then stick around, because things might get a little interesting.
So how exactly is this “new me/ new blog” going to work?
Well, I decided to sit down and see if I could write a “mission statement” to kind of sum up how I want to move forward with this blog, and with my life. This is what I came up with…
I am bringing all of my talents and activities that I enjoy together to create an eclectic contribution to share for my own personal growth, and to offer value to others. My goal is to follow my passion wherever it might lead to inspire and create more harmony in the worldwide community.
There you have it in a nutshell. A direction, but one that is still wide open, so I can shift into whatever interests might come along.
I’m going to be following my passion, my interests wherever they may lead, and I’m going to blog about them (or at least some of them). Right now, my interests are in creating guided journals, teaching yoga and meditation, energy healing (Reiki), spiritualism, continued self-improvement and spreading positivity anyway I can.
Yes, I am still writing fiction (I’m working on a new novel I absolutely love!), editing for others, and reading books, so there may be posts on writing, editing, or book reviews from time to time, but expect a branching out from that.
Also, there was a time where I was pretty regular with putting out new posts, but that hasn’t been the case for a while, and I’m not going to promise any regularity either. I’m just going to see what comes, and if there is something I feel strong enough about to share, then I will.
I do have some exciting things coming up that I will want to blog about, including opening up an Etsy shop! As well as new journals being published (I’ve been hitting my guided journal designing really hard the last few weeks). But there are some other areas I want to explore as well.
I figure this blog is the perfect tool where I can use it as a central hub to talk about the other things I have to offer, and present topics that are near and dear to my heart, because I think it is important to be authentic and share our gifts with others (when we are ready).
We all have unique perspectives and talents, and I believe our lives become much richer and fuller when we honor our paths by sharing them, and also honoring others’ paths by admiring them or even walking with them for a while.
So I invite you to walk with me for a while, or just admire from a distance, as I move forward. At this point in time, I do have an author page on Amazon that lists all the books I currently have published (more on the way!), and a You Tube channel for my yoga videos (more of those on the way too!), and an Etsy shop in the works (I’ll post a separate blog when it’s ready).
I also have a Gallery of Positivity page on this blog where I put some pictures and quotes I created together. Please feel free to view them as you like, or share with others. I will put up more as I am inspired to do so.
At some point, I plan on redesigning the blog as well, but right now I’m more focused on creating my journals, writing on my new novel, and getting the Etsy shop up and running.
But before I end this blog post, I want to take the opportunity to encourage you to share your journey as well. Please feel free to post a link or links to your blog or social media in the comment section of this post so I and others can follow along on your adventure as well.
Thank you so much for being a reader and follower, and I hope that by making these changes that I not only offer more for myself, but all of you as well.
Happy Journeys to you all!
